Wonderful Weekend & The Cheltenham Wedding Show

Happy Monday all!

I had a fabulous weekend with friends and family as I celebrated impending motherhood with a baby shower! With just 6 weeks to go it was lovely to spend time with my nearest and dearest, especially when it involves playing games such as “pin the sperm on the egg” and guessing the future mini Thomson’s profession (kudos to my cousin who has predicted he/she will be a lion tamer… okaaay then…).

I also had a few of my engaged pals to spend the day with on Sunday, so we headed off to the Queens hotel in Cheltenham to check out a few lovely and local suppliers displaying their services. The Cheltenham Wedding Show is a great place to start if you’re looking for local suppliers, and as a wedding planner I love to keep an eye out for new faces on the scene.

I also get to catch up with some of those I work with on a regular basis, and it always makes me happy to see them chatting away to newly engaged couples as I know they’ll be able to offer a fantastic service.

This year I came across a new supplier who had THE most fabulous cakes, and a sketch book full to the brim with amazing designs and inspiration. I introduce you to Curtis & Co Cakes who haven’t been up and running for long, but had incredible cakes on display at the show. Home-baked in Gloucestershire and made with the freshest ingredients, I encourage you to contact Jennie on thekitchen@curtisandcocakes.co.uk who will listen to all your ideas and help come up with a beautiful bespoke design for you.

On the 10th February I’ll be heading up to take a gorgeous bride with me to The Designer Wedding Show in London, where I look forward to catching up with some of the best in the industry. I’ll give you a full update of the best of the day on the blog afterwards, so keep an eye out!

Wishing you all a gorgeous week ahead.
