Today I’m really excited to be able to share a fabulous wedding with you from one of the hottest days we’ve had this year (hard to believe it ever happened with all this rain and grey skies we’ve got at the moment), from the gorgeous Johanna and Victor who got hitched at The Belvedere in Holland Park.
I was first introduced to this beautiful bride back in 2010, who also happens to be a fabulous birth doula! And over the last couple of years we not only planned a wedding together, but she also gave me some awesome advice while having my baby girl Flora… don’t suppose clients will be texting me during labour that often!
We started by pulling together a mood board, based on an English country wedding but with strong influences from Johanna’s love of India where she was often travelling back and forth from at the time. So I chose bright colours and peacock feathers as a basis for their theme.
Originally this couple wanted a traditional Cotswold wedding venue for their big day celebrations and we looked at Sheldon Manor, which has a unique spiritual feel to it, after shortlisting a number of options. However living in London we also considered venues closer to home and in the end they fell in love with The Belvedere in Holland Park – ideal really, with all those beautiful peacocks wondering round the gardens it fitted the theme perfectly!
I was there on the day of the wedding, helping with styling, decoration and co-ordination before the ceremony began… and when the bridal party arrived it was so lovely to see such a sweet and gorgeous couple surrounded by all their family and friends after many months of planning.
I wanted to share some of the images from the day, particularly to inspire other couples with some of their special touches – the favours were so personal and heartfelt, and the wedding dress and flowers were spectacular!
I think you’ll agree this wedding is not only unique, but also totally beautiful and jam packed full of love.
Huge thanks to all of the suppliers who made it so special!
